What happens when the switching frequency of dc-dc converter is increased?

Re: dc-dc converter

Generally, switching loss of transistors and diodes will increase.
Loss of the ferrite core will also increase.
The benefit will be the fact that you can use smaller magnetics
and capacitors as the frequency is increased.
There should be some trade off depending on application and
availability of high performance (low loss at high frequency and
high flux density) magnetics, and switching components.
