x-windows path,centos5.2,cadence

I think all things needed to be done i have did but i got that error that my friend tell me about that the cadence tools won't be installed
"Executing control programs (pre-load) ...
load_pkgs: ./install/pkgs/dfIIdb50.41-p003lnx86.exe: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

SL-10:Installation of dfIIdb50.41-p003lnx86 declined by control program (PRE_LOAD)
dfIIdb50.41-p003lnx86 will not be installedload_pkgs: ./install/pkgs/dfIIdb50.41-p003lnx86.exe: /bin/csh: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

"
i get that error directly before installation at the time when the softload is running and doesn't ask any thing after it. i.e. after the error directly it starts to install package by package and count the installation percntage.

But before that when it displays the packages menu for selection some packages have the status failed
after installing base , hotfix, and update (or base, update, and hotfix;i tried both),and configure them , and copy the licence file ,and make link for the folder tools_lnx86 , and adjust the path variables
(i made all of these with the aid of my friend who told me about the error and he installed the cadence on his machine which is nearly as mine and on mandriva 2008 and it works with him he send me his path varaibles file)

I installed Mandreva 3 times (2 KDE interface and 1 GNOME )and cadence 3 times and the common is the error i mentioned at first.
Now i start to suspect that some files are corrupted ??

Can anybody help? Anybody has encountered such error?
My graduation project is on Cadence and it shall work ,please help.

I forget to said that i tried the normal user installtion and the root and root on user installation all give same bug.
Also, I am not experienced in Linux but may be my friend.

what i get after typing icms or icfb (( Command not found ))

sl-10 installation of dfiidb50.41

Do you have installed C shell?

assurahome

No, what is C shell ?

I have (after you tell me) installed its equivalent in Mandreva 2008.

The error dissappered but the progr. still doesn't work?

bash: ./configure: /bin/csh: bad interpreter

try fedora core3 it should work with no problems

bash icms command not found

C shell is a shell with C language-like syntax.
What shell do you use?
Please show your environment variables.

mandriva 2008 bad : modifier in $ (/)

I have used tcsh shell which I found in the Mandriva CD.

At first when I were repeating my friend steps I were changing only the file .bash_profile of my user only.
But then I tried to change that of the root also I have replaced the file .cshrc in /home/<user> by another one I found somewhere where it was recommended to replace by.
I will put the three here ,although at other topics here it was recommended to change the .bashrc file in the folder etc and in the user folder(that which motivate me to make that topic , thanks greatly to meitolake who helped me here and there )

I have noticed that in both the root folder and the /home/<user> folder the file .bash_profile~ which contains the same content of .bash_profile before I have change it ?
Hint:I didn't install Assura yet.

I forget to say that when I am opening the terminal in my user I get that error :
Bad : modifier in $ (/).
/etc/csh.cshrc: error in /etc/profile.d/openoffice.org.csh
and I didn't get it when I am root

For safwatonline I have Fedora core8 is it working well?

Thanks for all.

icfb 45 (x_openfont)

well, i tried fedora core 3 and 4 and suse 9 and all work well with cadence but with some varying difficulty in setup, FC3 was the easiest.

cadence gnome configure

I make some changes to your .bash_profile, and I write a .bashrc. You can download the Attachment.
Show any errors you encountered in detail please.

cadence5141 license

Thanks a lot meitolake.
I have reinstall Mandriva in KDE interface and reinstall IC5141.

I have installed tcsh and bash_completeion shells.
I activated the tcsh by go to terminal (Konsole ) settings and select configure konsole and went to the session menu and add tcsh after bash -separated by comma(,)- in the Execute option.(I need confirm is this action necessary or what I did is wrong?)
All packages were having available status, and no (dfII won't be installed)-message.

And I made the soft link for the folder tools.lnx86, and I configured the installed products(base, updates and hotfix) and choose not to configure the stream manager(I remembered that it made problems for me in past installations but don't remember well)then the softload asked to install 2 packages and i allow it to install them and a small bug error-that I didn't record :( - appears before the message Configuration Completed.

I have replaced the .bash_profile and the .bashrc of my user with those you attached here (after removing some comment signs in the .bash_profile -as they were before important commands as export ones-), but I didn't replace or edit any other files for my user or for the root - shall I? ; as .cshrc for example - .

Now when I open my user terminal rather than getting [<user name>@localhost ~]#

but i get bash-3.2$
(is this due to install of bash_completetion?), while for the root it works normally.

Now, when typing icms or icfb Iget this message:
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
Serial number of failed request: 16
Current serial number in output stream: 31

I remember that when my friend install cadence he get Font error which he fix it by downloading some packages for Font.

Thanks for all.

bashrc path bad modifier in

Did you install the X Window System and fonts correctly?

prompt bad : modifier in $ (%)

Sorry , I am newbie in Linux, I am forced to deal with in order to work on Cadence.

I know not much people having Mandriva 2008 but that is what I have!

I am teaching myself Linux issues , I have seen posts on the web about X Window System but I didn't stop much ,and so now I will discover about.
(Is that enough ==> http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/pub/a/linux/2005/08/25/whatisXwindow.html
and
)

But, I am Wondering shalln't these (X Window system and fonts ) already installed with the Linux installation -may be the X Window system at least-?

Or the issue -for X Window system- is in its configuration ?

I am sorry for repeating the question: Shalln't I change any other files other than the
.bashrc and .bash_profile in the user directory ?

Thanks.

Added after 3 hours 50 minutes:

At Last :D

I have installed :
xorg-X11

font package .

And the Cadence opens at last.

Thanks for all :)
