Hi,

What is the Advantage of using Circular polarized Antenna rather than Vertical

Polarized Antenna(In Base Station) ?

Polarization

A circular polarized antenna will be able to send or receive both vertical and horizental polarized signals.
Having both you can for example send two signal one on each

Polarization

thank's for this explanation!! ^__^

Polarization

the cp(circular polarization) wave when reflected by obstacle will not interfere with the original one. Because after reflection LHCP will change to RHCP, and there are orthogonal.

Re: Polarization

Hi
How can we measure if an antenna is Circularly polarized as its merely not possible to measure E-Field.

By checking its axial ratio we can able to find out whether it is circularly polarised

or not. For good circularly polarised Antenna its Axial Ratio should be less than 7

dB.

Polarization

what is the type of antenna?
you can know from the type if you does not have the required background or field measuring tools.

Polarization

hi
The adv of Oly pol ant is that one can reciev inany orientation of the antenna owing to the elec field being along a circle. Also as suggested one can recive orthogonal pols but only at half power.

Re: Polarization

The answers are not simple.

Some of the answers above, while correct, may be confusing.

If you want a detailed discussion of how polarization plays into antenna designs run down "Polarization in Electromagnetic Systems" by Warren Stutzman. Artech House published the book.
