where can i get layout design software?

best layout design village

I am a new comer
now i have learned something about Layout
i want to get one software to draw some layout on my pc
someone on the net said cadence virtuoso is very useful
but where can i get it
can it run on my pc with windows xp system？

There is no Windows version of Cadence Virtuoso.

Maybe you can use L-edit in stead.

For a good cheap & Free layout tool download "ExpressPCB"
This company gives you the layout tool free, but you must use them to
make th board.

It's pretty basic but they build good boards for cheap.

Ledit is PC based ( not very useful)
Iced is PC based (Very storng)

If you want to have a user friendly design layout tool, I recommend CadStar, the latest version for now is the Version 9, even you used the lower version you can learn it faster in a little time..

This is not a free software, but you can download a trial version... just try..

Cadence Virtuoso runs on Linux and the license are very expensive. However, it is a very powerful tool for layout.

independent tool .. that what is its vantage point

Microwind is even good .. but for beginner i would

It is available for windows,linux and sun. It have very nice gui & working principle as Virtuoso.

I also have Virtuoso but he's saying he can´t get it and, if you know the licences price you won't wonder why...

FOr a cheap and good starting point I definitively recommend LASI, that's the one I used to ramp up and (I'm talking almost 10 years ago) it was awesome to be FREE!!!!.

I do not remember the link, but I saw it's in a previous post...

For tutorial purpuses use Magic or Microwind.
For strong project use Cadence Virtuoso with Eldo RF or Spectre RF.
