Bootstrap Switch Problem

Hi
I've a question about Bootstrap Switch.
In schematic, when phi is low,
vdd is applied across C3 by M3 and M12....

But I can't understand.
How it works??

left side(C1, C2 M1, M2) I can't understand .

please tell me in detail

Thanks in advance.

Re: Bootstrap Switch Problem

hi .. the left side part(M1,M2,C1,C2) acts as voltage doubler ... the voltage waveform at the top plates of the capacitors C!,C2 will be a square wave varying from VDD to 2VDD and both the wave forms are out of phase . u can refer to the book " CMOS integrated A/D and D/A converters " by rudy van de plassche
