hey guys
i need help in this project
beed to built a cube shaped box with and ldr fitted on one side of the face of the cube and this cube resemble my small satellite and it is fitted on a motor and moves clockwise or anti clock wise and the moment i point light on that ldr fitted face i want the cube to stop
meaning he satellite faces the sun now

regrds

Here is a link to light activated circuits:

Take a look at the circuit on the right side .. instead of relay connect your motor ..
Regards,
IanP

i have scanned the layout of my idea and it is in the attachment.
i write it down here once again

there is a box cube shaped and one side is fitted with an ldr light dependent resistor and this cube shaped box is fitted on a motor as the diagram shows .
the cube box rotates in clock wise or anti clock wise searching for light
the moment light falls perpendicular ( i mean directly on the ldr ) the cube shaped box stops. when i switch off the light is practically a torch in my hand the box again i.e. the motor again rotates and againa when i flash light from my torch directly on the ldr side of the cube the box stops.
one more thing in your reply kindly send me detailed ratings of the resistor transistor and the motor as i have 3 or 4 motors avaialabel with me right now

hello there if any one is having good background kind need help in his project

Perhaps break the project into steps?

Rig up the circuit that IanP posted, replace the relay with your DC motor, and see if you can get the motor to start going by simply shining your torch onto the LDR. You could prove this out on the breadboard. (remember to adjust the Variable resistor so it works when you want it too.)

If you are still having problems with the LDR, try getting the circuit to work by replacing the LDR with a regular resistor (try 1k ohm), that way at least you will know you have selected a suitable transistor and have it wired correctly.

Forget about getting the box part of the project going for now, tackle that when you have confidence in getting the LDR circuit to drive the motor.
