Hello! everyone,Currently, I'm testing the software fullwave from Rsoft
company to calculate the power transmission(or reflection) spectrum of
photonic crystal waveguide. The transmission spectrum that I have got isn't normalized to the input energy, and disagree the corresponding parts of References( shown in attached).
Would you mind giving me your successful examples for
calculating the power spectrm of photnic crystal waveguide? I complain that
the tutorial examples from the software fullwave are so little!

Dear irfan,
Thank you for your helpful suggestions. But I don't see how to run a free space simulation.
For a example above, What does a free space simulation mean? The attached is my simulation example,
would you mind helping me to understand it?
Thank you for your consideration, I'm eager for your reply.
Best regards

Dear hlren,
lets assume that you want to calculate the normalized transmission through a uniform slab. you draw your slab and put a field monitor at some point in the output side of the slab. you run your simulation and get wavelength-amplitude(with slab). Then you remove the slab and run another simulation and get wavelength-amplitude(free space) spectrum of the free space. then all you have to do is to square the amplitudes to get the intensities. and then you divide intensity(with slab) to intensity(free space). i hope this helps

Dear irfan1,
Thank you very much. I hope you become my friend. You are a very honest and ardent man.

our feelings are mutual :)

Very glad to get your reply. I born in Feb. 17 ,1978.
From your homepage, I kow you born in 1977, so you are my elder brother. Currently, I am doing the research on the photonic crystal to get a doctor degree in Shanghai traffic university. I know, you do well in this field, but I learn a little about the research. Although the Shanghai city is far away from the City Ankara, the capital of Turkey, as you say, our feeling are mutual, beause we are honest.
