Dear friends

I am from Japan.
I am trying to use design compiler installed on server in my institute.
However, when I starting up design compiler by running command:

..../synopsys/Synthesis/current/bin/dc_shell-xg-t

on the server, a message said that

Fatal: Design Compiler is not enabled. (DCSH-1)

Since one other has able to start up design compiler (using the same command), I think this message relates to the environment of my user.
I am not really familiar with linux environment and design compiler environment.

Can any one tells me how can I setup the environment (and which files should I check and modified) so that I can run design compiler?

More information
I cannot find file ".synopsys_dc.setup" on my home directory, should I create it? or where should I expected it is? and contain?

Thank you all for kindness.
Tuan

Re:How to setting up environment for design compiler

If you installed a software, that need for setting up the environment. Follow the steps: my computer->system properties->advanced->Environment variables
click->new. Here itself you have to give license name and its location

Dear kishornakul

Thank you for your reply.
I am not familiar with Design Compiler setting but The Design Compiler was installed on linux server long time ago
and I access and run it using my user from a Window7 PC via putty.
It seems that the design compiler will run on server rather than on my PC, and so,
I think the setup problem might concern to my user account on linux system rather than the environment on my PC.
I will try to do your suggestion setup on my PC. Do you know which variable name should I use for design compiler? should it be "DC_LICENSE_FILE"?
Best regards
Tuan
