Hello,

Please can you help me to link my scm and pcb files back up with the correct library file?

I am using Altium 10.771.23139, and Windows 7.

I have a project which is called Circuit_1.prjPCB

Obviously it has a scm file and a pcb file, and a scm library file and pcb library file. (these files are all in the project)

These files also have the “underscore 1” number at the end of them.

Every now and then I update the project to the next higher number and archive away the old one.

(So the project name becomes Circuit_2.prjPCB….and all the files in the project get the ” _2 “ naming.)

The problem is that now I am on Circuit_5.prjPCB, and my schematic and pcb file components are referring to the “_3” named library files which are archived away.

Obviously, the components are not able to be updated from the library because they are referring to a library which is archived away and not even in the project.

So do you know how I can solve this problem?

…i.e., I wish to get the scm and pcb “looking” at the correct library.

Do you know how I may do this?

Hi Grizedale,

I think your xxxx_5 library files not within a project.

Open project folder and copy your xxxx_5 library files to it, if you have any other library like xxxx_3 library in project folder delete it.

Open xxxx_5 library files if they are opened as free documents drag them within the project and save the project.

Open footprint manager and try to update footprints.

well i think they are in the project, they appear in the project window.........surely that means they are in the project....they are not listed under free documents or anything like that.

Hi,

If they are outside of the project they will appear as shortcut mark on it, just check this one.

and also check how many footprints are assigned for a particular component.
