Hello,

Active clamp forward has a real problem with no-load to full-load transients.

So why does this datasheet make no mention of this................

UCC2897 ACTIVE CLAMP CONTROLLER DATASHEET:
https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc2897a.pdf

When the load suddenly switches in......the clamp capacitor voltage is very low, and not high enough to reset the transformer, so saturation occurs.

this means the active clamp forward converter must be done with an extremely slow transient response..................so why dont the datasheets tell us this?

Dear grizedale
Hi
I think that your datasheet is not complete . some month ago i had a simple problem with AD620 , and at this forum i learned that the problem is with incomplete datasheet .
So try to down load some datasheets , for example some from Datasheet4U.net - World Electronic Components Datasheet Search Site!
Good luck
