Hi,

I have created my own part which is ADS1232. When I place this part into my schematic, it appears like in the image below.

I have two questions about its appearance:
  1. Why does "U?" Designator appear too far from the component?
  2. Immediately at the bottom-left side of U? , there is one small dot. It appears only for my custom part. What does it mean?

Thanks for your helps.

the dot means - manual designator placement is on - and that is reason why designator appears too far from the compoenent (click on the component and see if Property "Autoposition" is checked ON)

You'll need to move the desinator in your library, but at this moment I can't remember how to make it visible.

OK, In Tools -> Document Options, checking 'Always Show Comment/Designator' made it visible in library editor and I realigned it. Now it appears on proper position in schematic.
But I wonder there is still one dot on the bottom left side of designator as you can see on the image below. What does that dot mean?

Thanks.

There is no property defined to check its Autoposition option. Should I define one?
See the component properties screen below:

double click on the designator

Ohh what a shame, yesterday I spent almost one day for this stupid thing :)
Double click on the designator and checking Auto position caused the dot to disappear.

Thanks a lot :)
