is there a way of using a point source as an excitation signal in CST? all i can see are ports and CST doesnt allow me to excite just one corner of a cell and use that as my source.

point source in CST

I usually use dicrete port as a point source in simulating the dipole structure. Did you try?

i have a suggestion ...

How about specifying small size waveguide port at the location where one want to place point source.
