I have cadence 6 running in my lab, the problem is, I have to create all user accounts on each workstation eventhough the home folders are stored in the export folder on the server. Currently, authentication is done locally on each workstation i.e. if a user doesn't have an account on a particular workstation, he cant access his home folder. I'm wondering if there is a way of having each workstation authenticate the user from the server and load its home folder from there, kind of like a keberos system. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try NIS. It is not difficult to configure.
LDAP is another solution to it.
