    interface to G3 fax machine

Hi, I am very new to fax interfacing. Now I have a data terminal consists of an embedded microcontroller and a data modem. What do I need to make the terminal support G3 fax, i.e connecting through an RJ11 cable, sending and receiving fax. I heard I need a SLIC, a DTMF decoder, an FSK...

    watchdog with long delay

I used the function gen for the 0.5hz pulse. When i removed the clock input physically, the circuit works. But if i just switch off the function gen (leaving the clock pin intact), it does not. I have another test again to confirm. At first I give a pulse at the clock input (pin 2), then ground...

    watchdog with long delay

Thanks, Laktronics. I built the circuit today, and found one mistake. When the MCU hangs and the heartbeat pin stays at low, reset is not happening. Any clue?

    watchdog with long delay

Thanks. Attached a possible circuit. But I foresee one problem. If the system hangs at the very first time, ie. no heartbeat pulse at all, this circuit will not generate the reset pulse. Any comments?

    watchdog with long delay

picaxe Hi, I found one of my microcontroller systems hang from time to time. When it hangs, I need to remove the battery and wait for 20 seconds for the capacitor to drain. After that, I connect back the battery and the system will work again. I would like to design a hardware watchdog with...

Solution to interview question about clock circuits

Re: interview question Thanks all for your reply. There are 2 more conditions 1. it may not be necessarily 16 clock cycles. What if 15 or 14? 2. The pulse width of clock in Diagram A is 50ms 3. The duration of B is around 15-20 seconds. Therefore RC may not be a good idea.

Solution to interview question about clock circuits

Hi, all, I just been to a company for a hardware eng position interview. There is one digital design question as illustrated in the attached picture. Can anyone think of how to design a circuit that can transform from 'A' to 'B'? regards

    how this circuit works?

Hi, all, I found one circuit for multiple antenna detection. But I do not understand how it works. Can anyone help to explain? How V1 and V2 behave when the current source's current increase? Thanks.

    Set top box development cycle

Hi, all, Anyone here is familiar with set top box development cycle and the development cost? Now this is a hot industry. I just want to make sure i do not underestimate the effort put in for such a product. What is the significance of middleware? regards wanchope
