Does anyone know, of the 4 RF equivalent variables (motional resistance, motional inductance, motional capacitance, shunt static capacitance) which is the most important that I'm trying to match? There are a number of SMD SAW resonators available that I may be able to use if I modify the PCB.
The datasheets all show different capacitance values along with a diagram that shows an "equivalent LC model" showing the capacitors and the antenna. Do you think it could that I need to match different sized capacitors with each different filter? Would adjusting the capacitor size alter the...
Yes, I agree. I have both the 433 and 315 versions of the board. I've narrowed the difference down to the SAW resonator and two capacitors. If I swap the 315 parts into the 433 board it becomes 315, and vice versa. So I need to find a compatible 315MHz saw resonator and I'm testing it in a 315...
Glad you're still here!
I get no reading on my meter measuring from either pin to ground on either component. The meter is fine because when I touch a 180 ohm resister the reading is dead on.
I can't say I completely understand the concept of Q factor apart from higher being better. I also...
Hi, question on SAW resonators. Does anyone have any idea why R03073 can't simply be used as a drop in replacement for R2622 in an existing transmitter? I've attached the data sheets, both are the same frequency and look to have similar specs. @betwixt had some helpful answers for me in the past...
I had posted about this a couple years ago but never followed through because I found a source of more transmitters for the frequency I was looking for. Now I'm in need of having to convert again.
I mapped out the markings on the components of the 433 vs 315 board and found all these...
Old topic. I was able to purchase some Euro frequency versions so didn't bother going through all the work to convert from 315 to 433. Changing the SAW resonator alone wasn't enough.
Does anyone have a thought which component would be the culprit if a transmitter were to pulse? I have a bad...
Ok thanks. If I needed to swap some capacitors would it be obvious which ones to look at? Also, can I ask why are there some solder joints on the antenna? If I need to cut it below these joints does that cause a problem?
Thanks again
Mark
I forgot to say in the last reply that I did swap SAW resonators years ago and that alone didn't seem to work. I didn't have the receivers to test them however like I do today so maybe I should try that again.
Thanks for your reply. I currently have both a 315mhz and 433 mhz receiver for this system. I can swap the 93C46 chips between US and Euro transmitter boards and the data on the chip works in either system.I was guessing whatever is on the microprocessor (which I can't read) was the same with...
Hi guys, new member here.
I'm working on a little project with car remotes and need to convert a US transmitter board to Euro spec, from 315 mhz to 433 mhz. I know it's not as simple as changing the SAW filter (this filter says R2622 while the OEM Euro boards are R2633). Does anyone here have...
