    Variable capacitor Spice model

Hi, I need to design a variable capacitor SPICE model. I want to do it with look-up table which would contain a C-V characteristic. Can it be done? I simulated a IDC with HFSS and now I want to include the results in Spice model. I never used Spice so I do not know how to do it. Can you help...

    Monopulse tracking system in HFSS

Let me rephrase my question... If I use Incident Wave Port, how can I see what is induced at Wave Port exit?

    Monopulse tracking system in HFSS

Hi all, I'm designing a monopulse tracking system. It consist of Rat-race monopulse comparator and a system of 4 dipole antennas. The comparator is working fine, designed in HFSS and measured. Now, the problem is that I want to receive a circular polarized wave. This means that antenna A has to...

HFSS Meshing error "Facet ids assigning"

Hi, I'm getting this error: "Adaptive solution setup, process hf3d error. Failure in assigning facet ids to boundaries." What does it mean? Thank you

HFSS Smith Chart Intput impedance problem

Hi, I simulated a simple dipole antenna in HFSS. When I wanted to look Zin in Smith chart it gave me this coordinate sistem. If I want to see S11 in smith chart the cookrinate sistem is good. Why?

    Thin films (400nm) in HFSS

So, I place Layered Impedance boundary with 400nm thickness, and above it I want to place another box. Do I have to place this box directly on the boundary or I have to leave 400nm of space between?

    Thin films (400nm) in HFSS

Well, now I'm trying to understand if my idea is good. That's why I'm running the simulations. What about my question about Layered impedance boundary?

    Thin films (400nm) in HFSS

How does layered impedance boundary work? If I have antenna substrate with thickness X, on it I place layered impedance boundary with 400nm thickness, where I have to put the copper above it? On X or on X + 400nm?

    Thin films (400nm) in HFSS

Hi, I designing a slot antenna on a alumina substrate. On Alumina I also added a ferroelectric thin film (400nm) to analyze if I can tune the antenna with it. Model dimensions are about 8x7cm. To converge HFSS requires a huge number of tetrahedras (about 600 000). A friend of mine told me that...

    Radiation boundary in HFSS 13

Hi all, I got the new HFSS13 and Antenna Design Kit (ADK). I see that ADK makes TWO airboxes one inside the other and places Radiation boundary only on th outside airbox. Why TWO airboxes? How big are they? Thanx

Thank you for suggestions. Why is Symmetry not suitable?

    Interdigital capacitor hfss simulation

Here it is. Sonnet model should be correct. I get resonable results (I have some mathematical models so I know approximatively what should I get). I modeled ferroelectric as a simple epsilon = 500, tan = 0.01, 200nm substrate (BST in the model).

    Interdigital capacitor hfss simulation

Dear all, I need help with HFSS design of IDC. As you can see in the attachment, I made the model of IDC on a 200nm ferroelectric material. Fed with two waveports and microstrip. The airbox is big because I made it lambda/4 for the lowest frequency. I made a model in Sonnet also, so the...
