I told about another thing - the same why DECT and GSM (for example) have limited range (~5km and ~70 km respectively if memory serves me correctly) even if signal is perfect. Signal turnaround time does not allow to fit into right timeslot anymore (To protocol gurus - am I correct?).
I...
If Motorola Advisor series pagers is still available, you can use one for such purpose. If programmed correctly, they dump all received messages to programming port once they receive it.
This worked well for me (POCSAG Advisors was used, never tried newer Flex ones)
Well... maybe strange question, maybe it is answered in Bluetooth docs that I not yet read completely... But anyway...
Is there a range limit that forced by allowable signal propagation delays? Imagine that I have nearly perfect directional antennas, fast T/R switch, whole kilowatt of RF power...
fr4 for 3.5ghz
Hello mr_ghz! Thank you for reply.
I need to check how easy I can place orders in Switzerland, but anyway I'd like to have this PCB manufacturers in my bookmarks.
Concerning thermal expansion - it was first thing that concerned me.. I checked around for information and found...
I'm interested in such things too (for ham radio use)... 8-) Here is some more information (not yet completely built projects, but...)

I thinked about using bluetooth modules with CSR chipset as a core for a cheap P2P serial link for 1.2 GHz band (BC02E chip...
Looks like nobody answered for so long time... Strange...
If you looking for commercial stack - try I*A*R Bluetooth stack that is supplied as database for I*A*R Make*App. You select functions that you need, processor, compiler, RTOS - and get a optimised sources...
Not yet tested it...
Oops... Never seen such things as a OEM module. Usually it is pretty expensive instruments that have some other functions as well.
Looks like you have to design it yourself or order a custom design from someone.
BTW (to gurus) - is it possible to use doppler direction finder tecniques for...
fr4 constant
One more question - can someone recommend good prototype PCB manufacturer that can produce milti-layer PCBs in a reasonable time and for a reasonable price? Preferably in US or Germany...
Our first order from local company turned to 6 weeks of delay, and it was best available...
fr4 dielectric constant versus frequency
Some non-standard question... Does someone heard about using different laminates in production of a multi-layer PCB? For example outer layers is FR4 and two inner layers, where microstrips reside, is another dielectric (better at high frequencies and...
Look at Furuno website - they have service manuals available for their equipment, including marine radars. The one I downloaded for my friend (not a radar though) contained schematics too.
Well, looks like this topic was silent for long (if dates in headers is correct).
Is there much changes with availability of OEM BT modules for a small volume buyers? I dig deeper and found some inexpensive modules based on CSR BlueCore 02 External (I think it is just reference design...
Take a look at ready made modules for 433.92 Mhz that offered by some companies - Telecontrolli for example. Cheap enough and save a lot of time and effort.
