    Help needed identifying a component

This is a picture of a doorlock PCB, and I noticed two black plastic components on the board which I can't feagure out what they are. They have 4 pins respectively on the back of the PCB as you can see. Any help would be appreciated.

    2.4Ghz wifi antenna soldering

I do not think so. The antenna which is just a standard grey antenna cable only connected to the signal pin. If I solder a SMA jack instead of the antenna cable, do you think I would need to connect it to the ground as well?

    2.4Ghz wifi antenna soldering

Thanks, than I should probably just stick to soldering. One more question please. What does frequency have to do with connection quality? Mnt says higher frequencies don't require good connections and contact points alone also will get the job done.

    2.4Ghz wifi antenna soldering

i'm trying to make the signal of my WIFI router go directional by using directional patch antennas. But since my WIFI router does not have detachable antennas, I'm thinking of soldering SMA connectors to the board which look like the picture below. So I'm planning to solder connectors which will...

can't find the LG TV audio jack replacement

Hi, glad that I can help someone. A1. For me, I replaced the 'audio out' jack with 'audio in' jack. I don't remember the exact names but there should be another jack of the same type used to take audio inputs from PC. I could identify that they are the same component from the schematic sheet...

Diode replacement for my ATX PSU

These are the pictures of actual circuits. I couldn't get any schematics.

Diode replacement for my ATX PSU

Thanks, that helped a lot. This is indeed a cheap power supply so I couldn't find any schematics for this one. But looking at my PSU's copper traces, the 12V output is connected to : -broken diode -a large inductor with 2 more copper windings for other rails -to 2 seperate pieces of FR1??diode(I...

Diode replacement for my ATX PSU

Story : I transformed a ATX computer PSU into a benchtop PSU and while I was using it, I pulled off 6~8A from the -12V rail which is rated at 0.3A After 2~3 seconds it shut down with some popping sound. I took a look inside it, and could identify that the FR154 fast recovery diode was broken...

    ATX computer power supply repair

Ummm, I don't get what you're saying, sorry. The PWR GOOD signal is okay. It spits out 5V when I turn the switch on but even when the PSU isn't outputting any current due to the short. - - - Updated - - - Popping sounds, but no visible evidence.. That was a bit suspicous to me too. I just...

    ATX computer power supply repair

I bought a ATX computer power supply last year to make a power supply for hobby electronics. And while using it, I got curious of how much -12V rail would push. It said 0.3A, but I tested it with a multimeter anyways, and got around 6~8A. It wasn't stable and after 2~3 seconds, it made some...

can't find the LG TV audio jack replacement

The jack has 2 SMD contacts and 2 through hole contacts. I've gone through all major electronics components sellers but could't find any replacements. So I just took the jack from JK3601(audio input. I don't use it) and replaced the broken JK3700(audio output. the one I'm trying to fix). I...

can't find the LG TV audio jack replacement

Yes, the jack is truly broken. And it is a 1/8 3 5mm jack with 1switch and 4 pins. The switch is always detecting the jack is plugged in not letting me use the internal TV speakers. I've searched Digi-key and Mouser for replacement, but there were no results. I took the jack from the...

can't find the LG TV audio jack replacement

I'm trying to fix my LG TV(42LM6200)'s audio jack, and I need a new replacement to replace the broken one. Those are the images from schematic diagram and it's the JK3700 as you can tell. Those images are from the board and it's JK3601 instead of 3700, but it's the same connector. I can tell...

    DIY Fume extractor problem

Hmm... Do you think 40 watts is too much for a beginner? If not, how much would be enough?

    DIY Fume extractor problem

Hi, I'm new to soldering and I certainly don't like fumes that comes out when soldering. So I decided to make a fume extractor myself. First, most of the people on the internet used about 55 mm ~ 120 mm fan. They seem kind of small. Would they really work at that size? And I'm not sure which...
