mA? Didn't you mean ohms?
Thanks for elaborating :-)

i saw the link. great stuff !
thank you very much !
i didnt know buck can behavior very different according to the load and coil relationship :)
i always thought it must follow Vout=Vin*D law.
that explains alot now...
Hi all,
I have a question about a typical asynchronous buck's output voltage ?
the buck's output voltage is Vout=D*Vin
when connecting R load to a buck output, does it change the output voltage ? if so how come and why ?
from my orcad simulation it appears it does change the voltage although...
Hi,
It would be three phase step down metal core transformer.
I'd be emulating it with three separate single phase coupled inductors, each with 120 degree phase shift. It works nice. It would be 230vac per phase to 24 vac per phase, 50Hz AC frequency.
I chose 50mH for the primary inductor and...
Thanks but I'm not building one, just want to simulate a transformer in pspice. So i know I need to be able to pull 20A through the transformer, which are two inductors with N transformation factor.
I want to calculate which primary and secondary inductors will be able to tolerate 20A without...
heya guys,
how can i know how much maximum current can i drive through a given inductor value (Henry) or bindings (N) without causing the inductor saturate ?
is there any way to figure?
Gary
hi,
well its not that i love it, but i have a project to hand and just need to explore the most of it in order to make sure i make everything properly.
its okay - any help is accepted happily while you can.
Also, i need to hand the papers tomorrow so no time for more explorations :|
Gary
btw - can you recommend any reliable app note to read about how power mosfet work in principle ?
EDIT: i'm looking for something simple and easy. not too scientific.
thank you
dear goldsmith,
it is really nice that you - mighty goldsmith can learn something from someone like me. i'll take it as a compliment
about the PWM - i may added some confusion there - the two outputs waveforms are not exactly shifted but horizontally flipped from each other. they are...
i tie the two outputs (output A and output B) because each output produce only 1/2 cycle. Output B is 180 degree phase shifted from Output A.
when you use these two outputs independently, you get two seperated outputs with 180 degree phase difference and only 1/2 cycle. Output A will result...
another quesion please: the bootstrap drive process should happen only once on the start-up of the circuit. correct? in steady-state the capacitor will always be full of charge ?
Hi goldsmith,
please see attached schematics.
the SG3525A feeds the opto-coupler and then the driver/buck.
the buck design schematic isnt updated so never mind that (i will place another hexfet).
yes this is a generic SMPS- buck converter
btw - why do we need the diode between source and...
2 questions:
1. if i tied together my PWM outputs via diodes to have the whole duty cycle range (using SG3525A), instead two outputs with 180 degree phase difference.
i understand that now two mosfets need to be used on the output to fully charge the bootstrap capacitor (VCC to groun) i see...
