First file is a positive plane (top layer)
Second file is a Negative plane (Internal layer2 of a 4 layer board)
On the positive planes, the area surronding the traces and pads are etched away from the copper layer.
On the Negative plane, what shows are pads and thermal reliefs are etched...
Re: Dynamic Area fill
Dynamic Area Fills (Display Control - Layer Tab)
This command enables the display of area fill data inside user-defined plane shapes placed on trace layers. The Dynamic Area Fill command is only active when no Planes Processor generated plane data is present on any layer...

The only way to make an intelligent database in Expedition is to Create a usable Schematic, Compile the database, and lay the physical parts on the board and route the traces using the gerber data as a template.
As the gerber data is imported into the database as drawing features, it's fairly...
ipc-2221 footprint
It's been over 15 years since I've worked in Military stuff (which included Aircraft design), back then we used Mil Standards ,Mil-275D specifically for PCB design, and it was anything but minimal. Military standards required 10 percent spares of everything, meaning if you...
thermal relief connecting to power plane pcb
I agree. The majority of board fabricators will now balance the copper coverage
percentage to be equal on all layers of the board. Certain high-end design programs will report copper coverage, so that the designer can create the balance themselves...
Every software package has a different layering scheme than it's competitor.
The best way to answer this question, is to read the tutorials that come with the software packages.
If you have a particular package, post the name in your question, such that your question can be answered in more...
page number off-page connector
On the off-page connector symbol, you'll need to add the Property "Sheet Pointer",
with a value of "x" for whatever the sheet number will auto fill to.
