your question is imo not exact enough. when you have already installed smash, then why the heck don't you just start one of the numerous examples?
there are by the vhdl-(ams), verilog-A(ms) possible in smash.
Subthreshold conduction occurs (the name says it) when Vgs < Vt. Then the MOSFET
behaves like a bipolar transistor. This effect occurs only when Vds is a few hundred mV.
So:
Id,subtr = I0*exp(Vgs/k*Vt), whereas k is a nonideality constant - depending on the process I guess.

You can also use VHDL-AMS which is an IEEE standard in comparison to Verilog-A(MS), which is "only"
an Accelera standard (so no real standard). But like somebody has already said, it depends on your design tools.

You have to find out by any means what the load will be exactly. When it will be
a resistance, you may have to add a second stage. Folded cascode seems to be a good idea, but this architecture has a high impedance at the output, so the gain will break down strong.
