i try to control in stepper motor driver to adjust distanse
the distance must be 1mm between head and plate i use ir distance sensor from sharb to mesure distance and two limit switch for max and min postion
and one signal to start work and one signal to go to max point

no problem you can run it in 15v but for first time you must check tempreture of frame motor
but you can found car battery easly its 12 volt
- for two line ground one for encoder and another or motor winding
because you can opoosit voltage in motor winding to opoosit motor rotation
