I have designed a 2-D planner photonic crystal, with Si rods in air background, offering photonic bandgap around 200THz. Using line defects, I have designed a coupled-resonator optical waveguide (CROW).
Now, I want to find the effective refractive index of the entire system for each variation...
Hi,
As we know that there exist two directions in two dimensional reciprocal triangular lattice as ΓM and ΓK. Thus a 60 degree bent wave-guide is possible to design using two dimensional triangular lattice. Is it at all possible to design a 90 degree bent wave-guide?
Using dispersion plot (ω Vs K), we can understand the nature of guided modes, present within the photonic band-gap. The photonic band-gap (PBG) appears since different discrete values of ω present at same K value.
How can I understand the phenomena, if at different K values there exist same...
Hi,
I have designed a periodic dielectric structure structure to resonate at certain fequency.
Now I want to calculate the effective refractive index (ERI) for the structure. All of my design is based on CST MWS. How can I find the ERI using CST MWS?
Hi,
I have a problem with CST ascii export using VBA script. I have used CST Eigenmode solver to simulate a periodic structure for 20 number of modes. A parameter phaseY is used in parameter sweep with 80 number of iterations.
The results are OK but the problem arises with exporting the whole...
Thank you. Your valuable comment goes with my intuition.
Is there any specific direction (either ΓM or MK) along which the gap will be maximum for a given radius?
Hi,
To find Gap-Map, using FDTD, for square lattice of dielectric coulumns in air, I choose the 'X' position in reciprocal lattice, while varying the radius of the rods. The result is good.
But while considering the triangular lattice, I am a bit confused to choose the point in reciprocal...
Hi,
I want to get the PBG of a triangular lattice using CST eigenmode solver. I put the boundary condition as follows
+/- x: Periodic
+/- Y: Periodic
+/- z: Et=0
I know that the phase x and phase y parameters are to be swiped over some angle (As we do for rectangular lattice
1 from Γ to X...
Hi,
I was trying to find the modes of a symmetric photonic crystal based waveguide. The eigenmode solver of CST is doing nice with my requirement but in many publication people are getting even and odd modes within the band gap for a symmetrical structure.
I am a bit confused that, do I have to...
Hi!
I was trying to simulate a photonic crystal based wave-guide bend. Although, the simulation results was OK for a pure periodic structure, it diverges for the wave-guide bend. I have tried with adaptive mesh refinement option and by reducing the stability factor to 0.1. But no improvement...
How to simulate Photonic Crystal cavity using CST MWS
Hi!
I was trying to simulate the PhC based optical cavity, which is exampled at the cst website (https://www.cst.com/Applications/Article/Simulation-Of-Photonic-Crystal-Cavities).
I did set all the dimensions as given. Put a discrete edge...
