    Varistor for transformer protection

Varistors or VDRs are intended to protect electronics only from voltage spikes. A well designed 230 V transformer must work at the maximum value of 253V (230V + 10%). Tipically across a 230V mains is used a varistor rated at 275V an example could be the Epcos S14K275. (**broken link removed** )...

    [SOLVED] 900 W DC/DC Full Bridge Converter

Yes L3 is the leakage inductance seen at primary side. To measure this value you need to short circuit the secondary of the transformer and measure the inductance at primary. The value of L3 could be higher, this value depend on the transformer construction. Stefano

    [SOLVED] 900 W DC/DC Full Bridge Converter

I don't think that the primary inductance is a problem using LTspice as simulator, You can fin in attachment a very simple full bridge converter that use a simple model of linear transformer. LTspice is a good simulator but when I simulate a power circuit I prefer Psim. Psim is not free as...

    [SOLVED] 900 W DC/DC Full Bridge Converter

The value that you calculated is the magnetizing inductance. Higher this value is and better the transformer is. You could increase the value of B from 0.15T to 0,2T without problem for the saturation of the core. For instance the material 3C90 could work at 0.25T @100°C without problem. If...

Oscilloscope with BNC ground = physical ground

the voltage that your DVN reads is probaly due to the input emc filter of your oscilloscope. An emc filter has Y2 class capacitor connected across live and groud (earth) and across neutral and ground. This is not not a risk ( electrical hazard) for you but , this could produce strange behaviour...

Looking for information about step up chopper

stepup chopper I suppose you want to have information about the boost converter. You can use a search engine or you can visit for example the website of Texas instrument www.ti.com and look for the "Unitrode (TM) Power Supply Seminar Archives" stefano

Explain me this OR gate circuit

Re: OR GATE I agree with you! I think that there a lot of errors in the pictures of circuits. For example if you see the nand circuit, the lamp is connected across a short circuit! The or circuit could be right for example, without the lamp and as output the voltage across the 680 Ohm...

how to increase amplitude output of inverter ups?

You should post the schematic of your inverter, and the design of the output transformer otherwise it is very difficult to help you. stefano

    Problem with flyback transformer design

flyback transformer polarity You should post the schematic of your smps. Do you have read the application notes AN-16, AN-17 and AN-18 about flyback transformer design and AN-23 about Tiny Switch of Power Integration? regards Stefano
