Hi guys, I hope somebody can help me with a problem that I have.
I have designed a PCB and want to expand it. I want to do that by making another PCB that sits on top of the 1st PCB like a sandwich. I then want to fit a four way female connector on one PCB, and male connector on the other one...
I am trying to figure out how to avoid tracks getting routed in between the pins of resistors etc of surface mount components. I could make up rules for each component on the PCB but that would make a big mess. So I am looking for a global kind of rule that would cover say groups of particular...
Hi all, I hope someone can help me out with this question.
I have a friend who is using Protel 2004 DXP. I am thinking of getting Altium Designer 9 or 10. My question is: does anyone know if we would be able to exchange schematics and PCB layouts?
I understand both programs are from the same...
Has anyone managed to create a stereo potentiometer ( like a stereo volume control ) in Multisim. There is a stereo volume control in Ultiboard, but not in Multisim.
I tried to design one by attempting to edit the single pot in multisim but is doesn't allow me to expand the 3 pin design to 6...
I found out that I needed to connect a 120K resistor to the right side of the cap. This discharged the DC potential on the cap, and solved the noise issue. The circuit has been used in a commercial product of mine of which more than 3000 pieces have been sold since I first asked the question.
I programmed in C for years, but recently switched to the more friendly Flowcode from Matrix. At the C compile stage I occasionally tidy up the code, or use some of my own C routines.
So far I haven't found a better PIC programming language.
Re: ORCAD to Protel 98
Cheers for the links Nick. You are right about P99, but the poor fella only has P98 and he is resistant to change for some unknown reason...
ORCAD to Protel 98
I use Orcad 10, but need to send a copy of a drawing to a friend who uses Protel 98. I tried converting the file into the DXF option, but that doesn't import properly into Protel 98. I have looked for answers and solution everywhere, but like Protel 98 is well ancient. I am...
microchip pic multisim
Hi, I am trying to figure out which of the schematic packages can also simulate a PIC chip. I am working on a project that I feel could be made simpler by adding a PIC. Someone mentioned to me Multisim 10. But I can't get the demo to run on my PC so I can't say if it is...
Re: Volume control noise
Thank you guys. I tried the cap between pin 5 and 8 before, but forgot to add it to my circuit for clarity. It didn't work by the way.
The idea of connecting the center contact of the volume control to C205 is very interesting and I am going to try it out today. I...
ne5534 compensation
I designed a little headphone amp that has a a 50K volume control, which is connected in between two electrolytic capacitors. When I adjust the volume control I get a crackling noise. It is not the pot. I tried several types. I am using NE5534, and I adjusted the offset...
simple muting circuit
I have been trying to figure out a simple muting circuit that will either short or disconnect the output of a set of headphones from a headphone amplifier output. This circuit will be used to prevent that "pop" or high pitched sound when the amp is first powered up, or...
The good news is that my amplifier with remotely controlled variable gain is now a reality! It has been taken up by a company selling RF amplifiers, and has been on sale since October 2005 in the UK.
I hope that they sell millions, since I get a minor commission on my design :D.
Hi there, I just got back to designing UHF aerial amplifiers after years of IT. Can anyone point me in the direction of suitable transistors to consider, refrences to read, and perhaps some circuits to study? My main interest is the 450MHz to 1GHz region.
I am also looking to design an aerial...
Hi guys. I am a novice at some aspects of Orcad, so I hope someone will know the solution to my problem :( .
I want to design a part ( an IC) on my work computer, then take it home and use it on my home computer. Is this possible? And if so, how do I go about it?
I use 14.2 by the way.
