Hello, thanks for the help. I have small doubt in measuring the amount of power transfered between two coils. How can I find the amount of power transfered from one coil to another one. Can you please help me.
Hello,
I am trying to simulate a larger coil in Q3d but it is taking a lot of time to simulate. Does changing the mesh operations makes the simulation faster???? How can the mesh operations be changed??? Can any one help me out in this????
Thank you in advance...
Hello Fredd,
I have tried in that way and got the following graph.
I am attaching my model can you please check it once tell me what wrong I am doing...
Hello Darktrax,
thank you for the response, what if there is a core material having some relative permeability inside the coil. Then how can we calculate the inductance????
How to calculate inductance when a ferrite core is placed which has some relative permitivity????? How can this found in HFSS using the parameter (S, Y and Z) values practically????
Hello FvM,
Thanks for responding, actually I need to design an inductor as shown above with 247 uH of inductance and later give resonance with a capacitor of 10 nF. This is my coil set up
The coil diameter is 1mm,
Length 300 mm,
No.of coil turns 60
and the Ferrite core µr is 1000.
Can you tell...
Hello,
I have created a core coil and I need to simulate it to find the inductance using HFSS. I have simulated it and got some parameters (S, Y and Z) can any one help me how can I calculate Inductance of the coil using the parameters. Thank you in advance.
Hello Fredd,
I have tried setting the max passes to 30, I have got the following results
The value of inductance is same in AC RL, but it is increased in DC RL. Should we check the inductance in DC RL??? If so which is the inductance value of the coil to be considered when the rod is...
Hello all,
I have designed a coil around a ferrite rod. I need to calculate the inductance of the coil. I have taken two wires from the two faces of the coil and gave them to the face of the box as lumped port. The design of the coil is shown below.
The result of the parameter values are...
Hello Fredd,
Thank you for the help. Yes I have tried in that way also even then the inductance is not increasing. When I tried giving signal net to the rod, when there is no gap between the coil and rod am getting an error saying coil and signal are touching so I kept a gap of 0.1 mm between...
Hello Fredd,
I have even tried assigning a signal net to the rod(Core) but the inductance value is not increasing it is still decreasing. When a normal coil is simulated the Resistance is 0.0001 ohm, Inductance is 463.07 nH. When a core is placed and simulated am getting a values like...
Hello Fredd,
we can do in that way for conducting materials but in this case I am using a ferrite material as core, but we cannot assign source and sink for such materials. Now how can I add it to nets???? Thank you very much in advance.
