99% of the times there is nothing like Free RTOS when it comes to a commercial applciation. But if you want for a educational requirement uCOS and freeRTOS will do.
You need to know the extent of JAVA support needed. Hope you do not need the AWT. Also see that some JAVA (J2ME)porting and applicaition work is starterd now.
