when we do convolution of two signal, resultant signal amplitude raised, why?
e.g
temp= template
eeg= eeg signal
when we perform matched filtering on both resultant wave very high amplitude why???

hi i am doing code to detect spike in EEG signal using matched filter. in matched filter template is convolved with unknown signal. plz give me matlab code for matched filter........
i want to detect k-complex signal using orthonormal function. y=conv x .fi
here x is EEG signal and fi is obtain by gram-schmidt orthogonalization process.

i am detecting k-complex using matched filter and DWT. after detecting it, compring their result
1)miss detection v/s noise 2) false alarm v/s noise
so for compring results i want to add noise to EEG signal. i am using matlab 7.9
