    Proximity sensor question, speed

Bearings steel balls, between rings in a magnetic environment. Speed needs to be checked to ensure that there is enough oil and that it does not start to burn by calculating heat (air temperature is checked by a different PCB).

    Proximity sensor question, speed

Which proximity sensor/switch would you recommend from the <2ms response time range when power consumption matters? Range: <=3cm. The smaller is the better, there are electromagnetic coils around. I found that APDS-9190 might be close; a little quicker and smaller would be better.

Measuring speed of objects passing through a plastic pipe

Various. Those can be stone (magnetite - ferrous, quartz), pieces of wood mainly; possibly copper and lead chunks. - - - Updated - - - They occupy about 1/8 of the diameter to 3/4 of the pipe diameter. Simple building gray plastic pipe (designed for outgoing water sewers).

Measuring speed of objects passing through a plastic pipe

I have a 2" diameter plastic pipe into which objects fall (the pipe stands, 90 degrees to the ground level). Those objects are different shape and density so their speed gaining is not consistent. They do not spin. I would like predict their speed when they end the pipe (fall to the ground). I...
