    Meandering Transmission Line

Hi All, Is there a rule of thumb for meandering transmission lines? References? Thanks!

    Dipole Antenna Radiation Mode

Thanks for responding, however in this Reference, the Even mode is associated as the Antenna mode.... The electrical engineering handbook - Google Books page 573

    Dipole Antenna Radiation Mode

Hi All, Thanks for looking. To clarify, I meant a folded Dipole Antenna. A Reference to the Odd/Even mode is found here: **broken link removed** **broken link removed** Why is the Even mode the radiation Mode?

    Dipole Antenna Radiation Mode

Hi all, Can someone clarify how to determine the radiation mode in a Dipole Antenna. I know that the Dipole can be analyzed in the Even and Odd mode, but how can you determine which mode is actually radiating? Thanks!

Problem with designing a SIW slot antenna on Alumina

Hi all, I'm trying to design a Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) slot antenna on Alumina, and I can't for the life of me get it to resonate. I followed all the design methodology in literature and in text books. Curiously, I designed another version on a lower dielectric constant...

Question about gate biasing of pHEMT amplifiers

pHEMT Gate Biasing That makes sense, but why does the 1K Gate resistor change the circuit so much. Without the 1K series gate resistor, gain is around 0dB. With the 1K series gate resistor, gain is around 20dB.

Question about gate biasing of pHEMT amplifiers

Re: pHEMT Gate Biasing The amplifier's I'm using are not just single FET's. They are MMIC amplifiers with internal biasing. Attached is a typical assembly for the Amplifier. When the amplifier has internal biasing, unless I am mistaken, a bias-T is not necessary.

    IM2 calculation with ADS

mmm....is it because your amplifier is Ideal and is not modeled to be non-linear? that's my guess....

Question about gate biasing of pHEMT amplifiers

I have a simple question. I measured a 2 different pHEMT amplifiers from 2 separate companies. I used GSG probes for the input and output, and DC probes for biasing the drain and gate. When I do this, the gain is signifantly lower than from the spec sheet. When I add a external 1k series...

    Low Current Power Supply

Well....I want to measure the amount of gate current being drawn from a power amplifier i'm measuring. The current is on the order of 100uA, I'm not sure if there is a piece of equipment out there that can actually do this..... thanks!

    Low Current Power Supply

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know of a power supply that's capable of +-5V but with the ability to sense the current being supplied at the 100uA level? Thanks! Sam

How do you interpret the Residual in CST?

CST Residual Hello, How do you interpret the Residual in CST? I understand that it is a measure of whether your simulation converges or not, but what am I looking for? My sim starts with Residual of 1, then at step 140, it shows 0.63, never really gets past 0.5. What does this mean...

Dielectric Lenses - what is the main drawback?

Dielectric Lenses Hello everyone, My question is, what is the main drawback from using a dielectric lens for antenna applications? Is it a). Dielectric Loss b). Impedance Match c). Transmission efficiency What is the main problem associated with...
