    cadence skill code for lvs

Thanks for the suggestions; I'll take a look at the other thread and the MG site. I do have a lot of cells to look at...plus in general I prefer to work with scripts than GUI's but maybe that's a personal preference. I think I know enough to proceed but I was hoping to find a script already put...

    matlab and microstrip

If you have the rf circuit toolbox you can do something along these lines : Width1=5e-4; Width2=3e-4; Ms1 = rfckt.microstrip('LineLength',1e-2,'Width',Width1,'Height',6e-4,'Thickness',7e-9,'EpsilonR',8.9); Ms2 =...

    Multi-port inductor simulation in HFSS

You can leave the center tap floating if that's what you want. I'm attaching a good summary that might help you track down the factor of two you're picking up (pdf freely available on net)

    Agent2.CJSN trojan virus

Thanks for the suggestion. This looks like a useful site. AVR blocks me from uploading the quarantined file to the site. I tried another virus scanner and it also found the trojan. I think I'll play it safe and assume this threat is real... too bad.

    Multi-port inductor simulation in HFSS

That's better, but still some questions on gemoetry : This inductor can't be just on M6; I assume there's another metal layer (M7, AP?...). Also there's gray bar opposite the ports. Is this a center tapped inductor? Sometimes when you see a factor of two one suspect is single ended vs...

    Agent2.CJSN trojan virus

Thanks for the reply but that's not what I asked. I want to know if this virus is real or harmless (false positive). AVR already detects it and so far I have quarantined the file but that's preventing me from using the program.

    Multi-port inductor simulation in HFSS

It's hard to follow the setup ("two inputs closed to each other"?) can you post the project or at least an image that highlights the ports

    Agent2.CJSN trojan virus

I downloaded a program that I really need but my antivirus program (AVG antivirus free edition) says that it has the Agent2.CJSN trojan virus. Does anyone know about this? Is it a real threat? There's nothing on the net.

    cadence skill code for lvs

i dont know if this is the right place for this sort of question but I want to automate lvs process in cadence. I'm thinking of (preferably small) skill code that does this : (1)opens a cell in the database in schematic view (2)write out a cdl netlist (3)opens layout view of the cell...

    Interdigital capacitorp in HFSS

I'm running and older version (12.1) (don't have 13 unfortunately). What I use there is : (menu tabs) HFSS -> Results -> SolutionData -> ExportMatrixData There's also an EquivalentCircuitExport which I haven't used

    ports and excitations in hfss

The problem with this approach is that the connections between the plates and the waveports at the airbox boundaries introduce new elements into the system. Plus, the width and length of these connections,... are new variables.

    Interdigital capacitorp in HFSS

you should use the full s-param matrix which in your case is a 2x2 matrix ((S11,S12),(S21,S22)) for each frequency point analyzed. So the variable "s2p" above is a 2x2xN array : the last index runs over the number of frequency points analyzed. The "s2y" function transforms "s2p" into another...

    negative gain antenna

sorry but that's well outside what I know. I don't think it's an easy problem even for experts.

    planar em simulation within hfss

I know there are different products from Ansoft for planar em simulations (Nexxim?) which are cheaper than hfss. I have hfss and I prefer to stay within it. My question is this : can you run hfss in planar em mode? (to get speed at cost of accuracy...)

    Interdigital capacitorp in HFSS

since you have s-parameters you should be able to get the capacitance. There's a relatively simple transformation to go from s-param to Y-param and from that capacitance (or inductance). There should be a past post in this forum that describes this. Looking at your graphs I'd expect there to be...
