for the generic connectors, in the grid you can add as many as you want for the pin-number, for example: row from 1-4, colum from 1...80, meanwhile you may change the pitch between those pins, I also do have "no plastic around"...

Sure it's possible,
for example, if you want use Ctrl-R to rotate your component, just add "alias ~R rotate" in your "allegro.ilinit" file or command line or somewhere else.
from the menu "Tools->Utilities->Keyboard command..." you may find more informations.

you don't need any "copy+paste", the idea of "manually change coordinate and references in excel" even worse. :)
Capture CIS / Allegro has very good "re-use" module support for your design. check the keyword "RE-USE" in the software's...

if your padstack is correct(same as shape/flash if your padstack need it), you should have it available in your Symbol design, notice that you can't place pin in BOARD design.
