For simple 'stuff' , I use WinCupl which is offered (FREE) from Atmel.
Works just fine for me.. Cupl is very similar to Abel..

I am uploading the schematic for the latest Atmel cpld ISP cable
which I have redrawn for better clarity (I think). This same schematic
can be downloaded from the Atmel website, but I thought someone would

What other tools are currently available that will simulate
designs created using CUPL (Atmel WinCupl). Atmel supplies a tool
call WinSim, which leaves much to be desired. Does ModelSim,etc
recognize the output format(s) of CUPL? Your thoughts would be
appreciated...

I have attempted to extract cupl from the Protel package with no luck.
I currently use the Atmel WinCupl from the command line using an external editor (Ultraedit). Allow Cupl to generate Berkely PLA fromat
file which can be used by other vendor's 'Fitting' utilities.

for hobby use and wanted to ask before I attempted to 'reverse-engineer'
