    [SOLVED] Particular PBG Structure Simulation!

Hi, I tried the simulation of the PBG in that paper. It is giving proper band gap. It is more of like DFS (Defected Ground Surface). Since the defects are in the ground plane it is not going to connect to the microstrip line. To sum up, draw the structure as it is. draw the circular holes in the...

How to assign material in HFSS 9.0 ?

Re: material assigning Hi, You go to history tree. In the model tree, there will be a subtree for unassigned materials. Go to the unassigned material box: Right-click-->Edit-->Properties. Click on material then a list of material will appear you choose the one you want to assign or you can...

    [SOLVED] Particular PBG Structure Simulation!

Hi MWL Users, I think you will have to subtract the circular holes from the ground plane and assign the whole material as Perfect Electric Coductor. Yeah about PML, LBC, etc. I am also looking into this matter. Those who knows, please share. Thanks, Rex

HFSS error: no boundaries to define WavePort1 correctly

Re: HFSS problem Hi, I think you should assign the material properties of the waveport as pec. Hope this helps. Regards, Rex

PML, LBC and Master Slave Boundary Conditions!

Hi Rugby, Thanks for your reply. Is it that instead of radiation boundary condition in antenna simulation, we use PML for open structures. If so, then do we have to draw a PML box for assigning such boundary conditions. What will be the size of the box? And for LBC and Master-Slave boundary...

PML, LBC and Master Slave Boundary Conditions!

slave boundary Hi all, I have come across these terms while using HFSS. Can anyone tell me what do these terms imply and how to use them? Thanks in advance. Regards, Rex
