Check this out - **broken link removed** - just follow exactly the calibration procedure and it will work perfectly. I know because i built one, i'm using it to charge my 12v 7ah SLA battery. I hope it suits your needs and good luck ;)

a 10F 2.3v supercap charges for 20sec at a 1amp source and last for 3hrs on my portable radio, although it's quite expensive it's quite efficient, would last longer than nimh (in terms of lifespan) and it doesn't suffer any memory effect. It would definitely replace ordinary rechargeable...

Well for me it's Eagle since i don't really need simulation. I learned using Eagle PCB Layout on Youtube Tutorials lol and have been using it since then :)
