    Fourier trasnform of Rectangular pulse

Hi , I had the following doubt in dtft of rectangular pulse : When we take fft of a rectangular pulse say h(n)=1 for n=0 to N-1. Then in some books i reffered give the dtft as sinc function only. But why don't they consider the exponential term with sinc function. Thanks and regards, Pratham

Is the Fourier transform possible ?

Hi albbg, The solution for this says as : X^f(w) must be 2pi periodic if X^f(w) is dtft of x(n), but cos(0.5pi n) is not periodic,so dtft is not possible. Can you clarify this statement. PS:w belongs to R i.e Real value Thanks and regards, Prathamesh :-)

Is the Fourier transform possible ?

Can the function : X^f (w) = cos (w/2) , w= R be the fourier transform of a discrete signal x[n] ? Please help with this question. Regards, Prathamesh

    How to Find DFT index

Hello, A bandlimited analog signal is sampled (with no aliasing) at 500 Hz and 980 samples are collected. The DFT of these 980 samples is computed. Find the value of the spectrum of the sampled signal at 120 Hz ? (a) Which DFT index k is nearest to 120 Hz, and what is its physical frequency in...
