Verification of openEMS modeling with real-world using LibreVNA

The central trace can interact with the enclosure, even with a solid connection between your other PCB traces and the enclosure. In the worst case, this could cause your system to operate more like an antenna or filter. It's unlikely, but best to check in simulation if possible. Simulation with...

Verification of openEMS modeling with real-world using LibreVNA

Nice job on the PCBs, they look great. "The best" is of course subjective. What are your actual criteria? The return losses look decent over the measured frequency range, but only you know what you need... Yes, the length of the line causes extra phase to be incurred. How do we establish...

ADS : How to simulate time dependent Inductance and capacitance

I think the typical way to do this is to have a switched bank of capacitors, with the switches being activated at various times. I'm not sure if a continuous time-dependent reactance is possible in ADS.

Simulation of a Koch Fractal Antenna at 1.8GHz

Are you observing Gain, or Realized Gain? Gain as defined by the IEEE does not include return loss. It sounds like you are expecting realized gain. It sounds like you want to observe changes in return loss as you change your feeding position. I also recommend extracting input impedance from the...

Extracting permittivity and permeability in HFSS for NRW Method or Alternatives

All you need for NRW is the scattering parameters, reference impedance, and length of the metamaterial over which you are assuming homogenization, so yes -- why not? Via google, others have asked this. You can also determine these properties more elaborately using eigenmode simulation results...

    S paremter of cascaded system

The termination impedances are not part of the networks defined by the S-parameters, they are external to them. So, when you cascade these networks, you wouldn't include them in the cascade, only append them at the edges.

dual circularly polarized antenna with branch line coupler feed

"Independent" is a complicated word here - I'm not sure if the LH and RH channels would have zero correlation, I could see it depending on things such a modulation scheme, etc. You could perform a simulation using one of these units as the transmitter, and another as the receiver, to find out!

dual circularly polarized antenna with branch line coupler feed

Superposition applies in this passive circuit, so it can do both/either. We assume the power dividers appropriately decouple the LH and RH ports.

My rant about transmitter affected by reflected power (per K3ZD)

So, if the termination is an ideal inductive or capacitive load? I don't think the impedance description is very helpful here; I'd revert to the incident and reflected wave viewpoint. The reflections will be equal magnitude and +/-90 degrees phase-shifted from the incident waves. This will cause...

Issue with Lumped RLC in HFSS

As I recall (I no longer have access to HFSS), you can export the mesh from one simulation, and then simply instruct the solver to use this mesh every time going forward.

    Metamaterial design

That's a fairly large bandwidth, but possibly doable. It depends on what kind of technology you are willing to use. Transmission-line-based metamaterials are probably what you want here, but it depends on whether or not you can interface with the transmission-line modes?

Is there any way to increase realizedGain 1dB for the 1X7 Patch antenna?

There are many proposed techniques for increasing antenna gain, see for example the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. However, antenna engineering is a zero-sum process. So the question is: what are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve this higher gain?

My rant about transmitter affected by reflected power (per K3ZD)

Any reflections in the steady-state can also be equally expressed as a change in input impedance [from the matched case]. Personally, I find the notion that "Reflections cause damage" is generally a hand-waving explanation, as it doesn't adequately describe the actual problems. As far as I know...

    HFSS GS simulation

Welcome, Meow_Qin You haven't highlighted the wave ports, but I'm guessing one is that tall rectangle. The aspect ratio looks off, it's probably too tall and you might be exciting higher-order modes. Please show us the modes that are being excited on the ports.

    Metamaterial design

Welcome, Elijoe. What kind of metamaterial are you looking to create? UWB over what frequency range? Of course, you should be familiar with the necessarily dispersive behavior of DNG media, as indicated by the Kramers-Kronig relations. Whatever "UWB" is for you, it's likely to be tough.
