@KlausST, Thank you for taking time to explain. This handycam is linked to the PC via firewire. This firewire card is more than 10 years old. The PC had several BSOD during video transfer. I change to another card then the problem goes away. It's not the leakage that cause the BSOD.

Indeed. I need to check all the voltage supplies to the tuner. Strongly suspect sync voltage.
I found a bandage solution. Just program a short recording about 10 minutes prior to the actual one.
This will ensure the schedule record is OK.
Anyway, I will scrap this...

In page 3-29 is the power supply block diagram. 33VT supply to tuner.
In page 3-41 is the psu circuit diagram. Connector P1701 pin5 is 33VT.
C137 is connected to this line. Possible this the problem ?

I manage to source a compatible main board and inverter board and cables. Since it's only compatible in electrical and firmware, the menu is different and dimension is different too. So, need to retrofit so that the new board can fit.

Pin 1 of U705 (MP1584EN) is shorted to ground. ZD702 is OK as I have desoldered it and measured. D701 is not connected i.e. open. Is this normal ?

My first post in this forum. This monitor cannot power up. External power supply is confirmed OK. I have been searching for a replacement mainboard at Ebay but no luck. What could be the common cause of failure for this monitor ?
