It's not true what you have typed concerning number of nodes. The following is an extract from the PSpice Reference Guide.

specify a subcircuit that has no interface nodes.

In pspice language syntax it is allowed to omit nodes in a subcircuit header according to the PSpice Reference.pdf. However, the simulator turns out an error that there is no subcircuit name during an X call. From my point of view the latter means that the simulator looks for at least one node...
