Thank you.
I'll study the schematics, and software closely. I certainly don't understand it all yet, but its a great starting point.
I have much to learn/re-learn.

circuit design suite student edition
I'm a student so naturally I got the student edition of Multisim. The problem I'm having is I find I can't layout even the simplest circuit, because there are only a handfull of components in the libraries.
As soon as I get started I find that I don't have...
I posted in elementry, but maybe this is a better place for it.
Its been quite a while since I posted here, but I've always had good luck getting help, so here goes again...
My latest hobby interest has become Diseqc control of satellite devices.
For those not familiar, Diseqc. "digital...

My latest hobby interest has become Diseqc control of satellite devices.
For those not familiar, Diseqc. "digital satellite equipment control". Its purpose is to send a signal...
120v fan control
Thanks for the tip, it sounds perfect for what I am doing, I'll check my local Ace store to see if they have them.
I purchased the fans from Surpluscenter.com, they have a good selection of most types of fans. Here is the direct link to the fans I have...
120v motor speed control
I'll have to do some checking, but it makes sense to me. I found the specs on the motor, but it doesn't say if its a shaded pole, or not.
5 3/4" 115 VAC FAN
Very low noise. Ball bearing motor. Operates on 115 VAC. 11-40 watts. Removed from service. Various...
120v fan speed control
Its a single phase, 120 V. muffin fan it has no capacitor. I don't know that much about motor technology, but I'm sure it is just a field winding, with one of those solid looking laminated armatures. What thats called I am not sure.
shaded pole motor speed control
I may be asking to much. I'm looking for a simple circuit to control the speed of a couple small AC muffin fans. I've tried lamp dimmers, and they just don't work, they are very eratic and nonlinear.
I've done dozens of searches, and came up with only a few...
36v power transformer
I'm trying to convert a sat positioner box by replacing the 220 volt input transformer with a 120 volt input transformer.
I don't have definate specs on current, but something like this should be fine:
120 v primary
12 volt secondary at about .5 amps
36 volt secondary at...
I have been playing with my old Pansat300a receiver for a while now. Some time back I managed to crash the firmware trying to upgrade using the wrong software version from the pansat site etc... Well its up and running again.
So now I'm looking into the possibility of adding an SPDIF output to...
29f400 29f800 programer
What external device? The only one I see is an i2c bus chip that apears to be a sound decoder.
I'm not sure what you mean as far as decoding memory, I thought thats what the EMI does. If theres another chip onboard I don't know what it could be.
I agree with you on...
flah rom memory data sheet
Thanks for the replies and the links.
I finally got the data sheet for the 5500. Now I have a couple new questions. The data sheet says:
The STi5500 has a 32-bit signed (twos complement) address space where the address ranges from MinInt (#80000000) at the bottom to...
al7bar upload firmwares
Thanks for the reply anyway, actually I have searched and searched, and searched. I'll keep trying untill I figure this out or fry the thing. I'm sure theres an answer I just don't know enough to figure it out yet. But I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't enjoy learning...
1m x 8 top boot flash chip
I agree its probably an offset from the cpu. I still don't understand what numbers your are adding together to get your results. I'll look at it more after I've answered your questions.
The unit I'm trying to repair using jtag uses a sti5500mvb-x cpu, with the...
