Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

After rearranging everything in a more compact design, the same behavior from my igbt. During switching on an overshoot appears. In order to solve this, an other igbt used, from other manufacturer, and the result is an overshoot during switching off, which is expected. Then using the proper...

Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

I hope you to be right. I will try to rearrange the design, and if it is possible to use pcb, with all the connections with small cables, or forming welding lines in the dotted board. Thank you again...

Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

The value of the snubber capacitor is about 0.1 - 10uF, but I do not remember exactly, this value is proposed by the manufacturer without the presence of a resistance. As far as I know, the importance of the snubber capacitor is for the switching off, however the overshoot appears on the...

Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

Nothing changed from previous post. This is a photo from the boost converter, from left to right . Capacitors and inductors are in series. I tried different combinations. The switch is a leg, and I use only the one igbt. I have not connected the point of connection of the two capacitors to earth.

Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

You are absolute right. I changed everything and this continues to exist. Inductance, capacitor, load, power supply, but not the switch, temporarily. The igbt turn on and off times, combined with the pulse tr and tf may play a role (who knows...). After that, I will try to change the geometry...

Boost converter output voltage overhoot during igbt switching on

Hi guys, I face a problem with a boost converter. When my igbt is switched on, then I observe an overshoot at the output voltage. I put a snubber capacitor, but this is not about it (this is actually useful at the switch off state). I googled it, and found some specs from commercial products...

    igbt goes short circuit

We checked our IGBTs as you describe, but one of them, changed its behavior from on to off, and vice versa, and we were confused. However, we believed that the manufacturer will inform us for the specific reason, because we supposed another reason as described above. Thanks for your replies!

    QEP Encoder troubleshoot - TMS320F2812

Hi, I am a new user of F2812 and I face problems with QEP using simulink. I am trying to check through RTDX if my QEP input is right before implementing any advanced control code. Firstly, when QEP and PWM are in the same EV then the captured results are inconsistent. Contrarily, in different...

    igbt goes short circuit

You are absolute right. We sent our IGBTs to the manufacturer, and he told us that we had "burnt" our IGBTs. The reason for this is not known to the manufacturer, but we tested the rest IGBTs, with the same code and process and everything seems to work ok until now. For the history: we had 2...

    igbt goes short circuit

Ok you are right, I isolated the IGBT now (it was little difficult), and the resistance is 2 Ohms. The other switch at the same arm why has MOhms and when I apply even a low dc voltage short-circuits? I have the resistor as previously Tahmid mentioned. There is no possibility for incorrect...

    igbt goes short circuit

Ok I measured the resistances... ...one switch of the bridge arm has a resistance of about 600 Ohms, with or without dc voltage, and the other one some MOhms. The one maybe has been destroyed but the other one why short-circuits when I apply a dc voltage. Is this right? Do you know any other way...

    igbt goes short circuit

Thank you for your replies! @Tahmid The evaluation board from the manufacturer I suppose that provides this resistor. However, I tried the resistor when the IGBTs were not supplied with control and power input, and the IGBTs still remain short-circuited. @FvM This is right, but the IGBT arm...

    igbt goes short circuit

Hi, https://www.edaboard.com/threads/197011/ I face the same problem as adnan_merter. I have 3 bridge arms (which means 3 packages) with total 6 IGBTs. When I leave one package without its evaluation board and driver core (manufacturer uses these names for a complete system of 2 boards, mainly...
