Of course the guy who wrote these article was very very optimistic but lets considering the following facts:
1º) The collinear array should have:
a) Half wave dipoles
b) spaced between a half wavelength end to end.
2º) Feed the elements in phase to a 0º elevation...

Eznec, elnec, nec4win, necpro, necplus etc are nec/mininec routines based program and have some difficult to simulate LPDAs and corner wires such as cubical quads etc.
They work fine with vertical, yagis, corner reflector antennas. But most of them do not simulate transmission lines...

As cross said RF Design by Chris Bowick is od book. I have one and i can advice u to buy one.
Other good book this area is Introduction to Radio Frequency Desig by Wes Hayward. I also have one and it come with a floppy that contains some RF applications programs.

I didn't use supernec yet, but all mininec and nec based progams are very slow when simulating complex strutures. Try reduce the number of segments and run it again.

RF Design
I advice you to buy a good RF design book such as:
RF Circuit Design, by ChrisBowick.
Other good book is RF Design by ARRL.
But before read those books above, start with THE ARRL Handbook. There, you'll find an easy way to understand the RF misterious !!

Well i thought very interesting this software 'case it uses the transcondutance, Cgp capacitance. I think the only problem is it doesn't use Cin and Cout to do the match impedance.
