Thank you. Actually, I looked at the formulas that talked about Fmin and Fmin,P, but I have those formulas to make adjustments within limitations and keep the noise low. I was about to answer that, "Because, I used equations that dictates what should be the values for low noise". But, I wasn't...
Hello All,
I was on phone interview for RF designer, and was asked, "Tell me how does the LNA make it all happen in low noise?" In fact, I never thought that before (though, I did a class project on LNA design in Cadence). I replied from my gut feeling:
1. It does not have resistors that add...
I asked this question long time ago. I just wanted to share my finding if anyone needs the info.
1. I emailed (former) Agilent (who built the tool), asking if there is any way to simulate slot line in ADS. They replied that they do not have any slotline capability in ADS:-(
2. HFSS did the the...
Finally found a problem in my understanding, (and an equation).
I tried to keep \[{ w}_{T }\] unchanged. However, it was to change.
In the new (or the proper) approach,
I kept \[{ g}_{m }\] unchanged.
So, I went like this:
\[{ w}_{T-modified}=\frac {Impedance}{{L}_{s -modified} } \]
Then,I...
Sometimes it may take long, but 2 months delay is something not very common. You are not very lucky this time. It may happen that one of the reviewers are taking longer than usual due to his/her personal reasons. For revision to acceptance to publication: there is no hard and fast time lines...
You do not need to convert everything to DC. There are oscillators that can produce signal of different frequencies. The concept is simple: there is thermal noise everywhere (unless something is cooled down to 0K or -273celcius). The noise has all the frequencies but a tuned amplifier (with a...
Is there any specific reason that you do not want to go with the available design?
In simple cases,
Decide how much current you need, then use the MOSFET equations to achieve that current, tune the width a little bit and you will get it. I prefer to build one Wilson (or mod Wilson), then do...
Hello,
I am designing an LNA (in Cadence for class project). I am having a simple problem, (sorry for my representation here). I am going Cascode with this one.
I have calculatad values for \[{g }_{m}\], width, \[{w }_{T }\] , \[{F }_{min,p}\], etc.
So far, the cut-off frequency is calculated...
My suggestion: I believe the first goal should be getting 'one' published. After you are done answering the reviewers' questions, and the paper is finally accepted, then think about the next paper.
If you think your findings are worth more than one publication, just go slow and one by one...
Hello everyone,
I am trying to learn about slotline. Please try to answer few of my queries:
1. Is there any paper that can give me characteristic equation formula from physical dimensions? (I am not asking for S/W)
2. In ADS line calc which one is slot line (the diagrams confused me)? SLIN...
