If your structure is not meshed well, results you obtain may not be correct. One option could be to use distribute the solve between different machine if you have a HPC license.
I see what you are trying to do.
You can use waveport to absorb the waves down the line. Since you dont want to excite the waveport, if you right click on fields, you can set the magnitude of Power of waveport to 0 and incident wave to 1. This will make waveport act as an absorber and no extra...
Is your transmitting antenna and receiving antenna in the same design? If so, once the transmitting antenna is excited by port, the radiated field will excite another antenna. If you have two dipoles, you will excite the transmitting antenna with lumped port and another dipole will have 50 ohms...
if you are exciting your model by plane wave, why do you need wave port? You can use incident wave as you excitation source.
Integration line usually helps you align the entering E-field. And also to calculate E dot dl along the line to calculate voltage, which is later on used to calculate...
I suggest using waveport. You have to careful about the size of waveport. Wrong sized waveport could introduce impedance or right mode may not propagate. I think there is some guideline on waveport size that HFSS suggests when you apply it to the microstrip.
I dont think there is a quick way to plot on 2D plane. You can create several polylines and plot near fields on them. One possible way could be is to use the electric field and magnetic field and calculate radiated fields yourself.
Solution frquency doesnt have to be resonance frequency. Solution frequency is used to create adaptive mesh. At resonance your design may need more mesh than other freq, and if you choose diff solution frequency you will get diff. answer. Finer mesh would always give you better results but at...
Did you resolve ur problems? If you are still seeing the problem you might have to open up regedit and delete registry key.
It might help if you delete folder : <mydocuments/Ansoft
There could be lot of factors on what the cause of the discrepancy is. Its easier to tell where the problem lies if you can provide more description on how you are setting up your HFSS model.
1. I would say pick higher frequency of the UWB range as a adaptive frequency. I would suggest pick 15 GHz.
2. You want to make sure that all the waves get absorbed at the radiation box . If you use regular radiation boundary, use freq at 17 GHz.. FYI, if you are using FEBI boundary you can...
I dont know about each tool you have listed but what i can tell you is that difference in software is usually based how they solve the EM equations. They can either use Finite Element Method, Finite domain time domain, Integral equations or combition of those 3 solve methods. If you go the...
