    how to build a 5v 1.5 A power supply?

78S05CV from ST will supply up to 2 Amps if adequately heatsinked.

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Last night I test the SMPS of Farnell, I can adjust the voltage +/- 25%. I adjust it to 24.6v over the led and without resistor it gives a very stable output current of 2.07 mA and that's exacly what I need. The heatsink I use from an old computer proc. with little fan, size 50x50x25mm but it's...

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

This data is from the original Bridgelux and is Table 6 on page 10, yes I have to use a resitor to reduce the current and a heatsink with fan.

Differance Beteen LED Driver and SMPS

SMPS is a switching power supply without big transformer and therefore small in size, a regulate power supply is with a big transformer and they are bigger in size.

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Thanks erik, I just order 24V 60W 2.5A by Farnell for €36,10 see TRACOPOWER|TXL 060-24S|PSU, ENCLOSED, 60W, 24V | Farnell Nederland This is just good for the C4500 LED, it seems that 24V for this led is perfect because it has a forward voltage range between 23.4 and 27.4V.

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Thanks KJ6EAD for the links, very useful. I buy the leds by Farnell but could not find the driver, although this driver is very expensive it gives me some hope. Rutronic I still have to check. Thanks again.

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

For the smaller power leds I use now just a mains plug 12v power unit of an old switch - hub, that just works fine. But for the Bridgelux BXRA-C4500 I need more heavy, in your link I see they have and its a good idea but on an earlier link of KJ6EAD pointing to pdf of Bridgelux with a list of...

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Re: Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500 Thanks. 1. What I mean with Next step will be to fool the beamer so it not switch off if I disconnect the original lamp. First of all, of course first I switch off the power before disconnect the original beamer lamp. But after...

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Re: max. light power from an E27 LED lamp Thanks again erikl, Yes I know for the Bridgelux BXRA-C4500 its impossible to use a E27 fitting, just only because of the heatsink with fan. I fit it on a Pc proc. Heatsink with little fan, this works good. But because I want to build this in a...

Power driver for Ultra Power LED from Bridgelux BXRA-C4500

Thank erikl, its an interesting power unit for low price. But I wonder how they made a drive for super led lightbulb of 220vac in a E27 fitting, for normal bright leds will be easy but how about the super leds who need more power like 10 - 20 up to 60 watt ?
