Yes. But I have to do same as paper says. "Circular Patch Antenna On metamaterial". That says FR-4 will have permittivity 4.9 loss tangent 0.025, permeability 1, substrate height 0.25mm.
I'll try it with lossless substrate just to check. Thank you
hi all
This will just take a minute to solve my problem but I am very confused here.
I am following a paper, I do just like them as instructed in the paper but my antenna is not radiating. I have done everything same. But I cannot have 8db gain. I have -7db :(
Freq:4.7GHz
Ground: 48/48mm...

I am also newbie here but I think you can check dielectric constant of FR4 from your software. Before designing a patch antenna you should first set e, f, and h height of substrate, then calculate the w,l width and length of your patch.
I am currently trying to simulate a simple circular patch antenna with lumped port. I just follow the steps which is written in the paper but there's something wrong in my antenna. I cannot have the same gain around 8db in the paper. I have -db's :( can somebody help me to design the patch...
Actually I am working on same project. :D Are you using "Circular patch antenna on Metamaterial" by M.Z.M Zani,..etc? I just simulated the SRR unit cell in HFSS. I suggest you to use HFSS. The radiation box's up and down faces will be perfectH, 2 sides will be PerfectE, other 2 wave port. I am...
Simple unit -cell metamaterial simulation HFSS
Hi friends
Does anyone has a project in HFSS about split ring structure? I am trying to redo the project of M.Z.M.Zani, M.H.Jusoh,...'''Circular patch antenna on Metamaterial'. If anyone help me to do this, I would be very grateful.
