I threw in a 100 ohm resistor from the wiper to pin 3, and just used a momentary switch from pin 4 to ground to trigger reset/full power output. How's it look now?
Could someone also please tell me if the PWM frequency of this circuit would be ~10khz?
I dunno what SOA characteristics are...
Thanks for all the help guys :-D
Here's the link to the original of this circuit: **broken link removed**
Am I correct that by changing C1 from .1uf to 1800pf/1.8nf, the PWM frequency would change from ~200hz to approximately 10khz? These little trains run really smoothly with PWM up this...
Hi everyone, I'm looking at making a model train controller based off this circuit:

I'm thinking that by changing C1 to 1800pf/1.8nf, the PWM frequency should be up around 10khz? These little trains run really smoothly with PWM up this high.
The kickstart has a reset...
Does anyone know of a circuit or kit, that will play one of a few small audio files at the touch of the corresponding button?
So say i have four small 5 second audio files, and four buttons. Pressing button 1 plays file 1, pressing button 2 plays file 2, etc...
A generic mp3 player is no good...
how to keep a 555 timer from false triggering
Thanks guys :D This is just a one off project, and i've got no experience with microcontrollers.
I was actually hoping to do it the way you say VVV, but when i tried on my 555 simulator program, the 555 timer started as soon as i triggered the...
555 simulator
Say i want to have a motor running, and i want to hook up a 555 timer so that when i turn off the motor switch, the motor continues to run for the time i have set on my 555 timer. I dunno how to hook this up, especially as i don't want to interupt the power to the motor, not even...
I need some thin momentary switches, preferably with small measurements such as 1cm x 1cm, or 2cm x .5cm, etc, but the most important thing is for it to be thin.
I have seen pleny of micro switches around that are about 50mm x 50mm and about 5mm thin, but they are too small and a little thick...
Your help on latches is most excellent :D As you can tell i've had very little experience with them, and i will read all of the links.
Thanks again, i'll be right now :D
Ahh, you are 100% correct :D Thanks for all the answers, you're awesome! But my stupid questions continue...
stupid question number 1: i'm pretty sure all the 3 voltage supply pins can be shorted together, true?
and number 2: what is the box on the left with the 4 pins: s, r, q & q?
I thought...
Thanks for the quick reply! But i don't think the circuits are what i'm looking for tho, unless i'm reading it wrong?
The main thing i need is a circuit that switches the polarity of a voltage at each push of a single input.
Re: Probably stupid questions about opto isolators/couplers.
Thanks for all the explanations of what an opto isolator is good for guys, but the question here is "why people use opto-isolators/couplers to run extra leds from a mobo led header, instead of just using a much cheaper solution such...
