Hi there..
I have a few stepper motors.All of them are 6 wire unipolars.
I m using pic 16f877 and a power circuit which has L298.(not L297 )
I could run one of them succesfully using 1000,0100,0010,0001 pulses.But I couldnt run other motors,although I identified the wires using multimeter and...
You can set connection between matlab and pic through serial connection and transfer data, if this is what you asked for.
But since "programming pic" is something different,you may not be able to do that.I can not say impossible since I didnt try it before.

My question is that,will I need extra circuitry to be able to control stepper motors using serial port?Im not experienced so I'm open to suggestions from experienced members about stepper motors and serial port control...
You can use your Hdd in another computer and save your files.Also,as one mentioned I heard that there are 3rd party programs that you can write to cdrom and boot from it thus change your previous password (but not learn it).
