Re: IE3D Different versions
Hi Jian,
I did not use the geo file of v 9.21, instead I constructed a seperate file for v 11.15. What I tried to simulate was non-radiating edge gap coupled MSA consisting of two elements. One was fed using co-axial probe while other was gap coupled to one of it's...
IE3D Different versions
Hi All
Well first of all let me mention that I have simulated gap coupled microstrip antennas in which 11 patches were coupled to driven element. the simulation was done using IE3D v 9.21 and the first fabricated model itself matched the simulated results. But for other...
Re: Plotting in IE3D
well jian thanks for paying attention to my suggestion.
hey jay thanks for help. but i dun have rf toolbox??? is it free and downloadable??? do u know of any other software???
thanks

Hi All,
Iam using IE3D v 9.33. In this, for plotting the graph there is no provision to use line with different styles, like marked, dashed and so on. I have to plot Smith Chart and radiation pattern in black and white showing comparison for several cases, for which I will need to use lines...
refer the book CAD of microstrip antennas for wireless communication. It has few codes for patch antenna analysis. see if it is useful. you can download it from this site

the size fo the antenna depends largely on the operating frequncy and to some extent on the type of substrate material used (dielectric constant) and also the hieght of substrate. there are quite expressions available for regular sheped antennas (rectangular, circular, triangular and so on). u can...
Well if as far as cpmmercially available softwares are concerned there are no commercial softwares, which make use of combination of MoM and FEM. There is ie3d which uses MoM and HFSS which uses FEM. You will have to develop ur own code for that purpose. Good Luck :-)
Hi ricy,
thnks!!! it' a good site. But I have to simulate multiple gap coupled antennas and the code available is capable of simulating only single rectangular patches. Would ny1 have ny resource that is capable of simulating multiple gap coupled structures. If ny1 cud provide some resource it...
Hi All,
Iam in need of simulation software for analysis of patch antennas. I have to simulate gap coupled patch antennas. Does nyone have code that is capable of doing this task??? could you please upload it for me??? It would be great help as all commercially available softwares are quiet...
Hi All,
Iam using Ansoft Designer SV for MSA simulation. I have observed that the output depends to quite an extent on the parameter "lamba refinement factor". However the problem is that if I take this value high enough the no. of inknowns increase significantly exceeding the limit of 300 for...
Hi,
If u r looking at microstrip antennas then u slot and e shaped patches have been reported which have considerably high bandwidth. Also how abt using planar monopoles which have significantly high bandwidth.

Hi
The standard design formulas are available in many textbooks. Particularly the lenth of the rmsa is the determining factor for resonating frequecny. The length could be grossly approximated as
l = λo/√εr
where λo is the wavelength in free...
