thanks for that, this helps. i got the idea. but for the voltage divider resistors, how does the negative input value depend on the setting of the pot? what i understand is that the value will be inverted in the inverted input pot of the comparator, giving a zero digital output.
i am using a comparator to compare two values i will get from an IR sensor to detect the presence of glass can. then the output value is taken to the pic. this is the circuit diagram of the sensor. how does this comparator do in the potentiometer part, how does it compare when the receiver does...
